Robert August, Dick Brewer & other great names of this beautiful sport did the same thing --- to make one's own surfboard.
Three months ago we decided to do our own not-so-little "Science Project" wherein we set out to make boards by ourselves. We carefully shaped, designed & finished 12 (yes, you read it right - 12!) surfboards while donning our green worker suits & face masks. As we tested these boards against the waves of Lanuza, Surigao del Sur, they (unfortunately) did not perform as we expected. Saddened but not disheartened, our team went back home with new ideas, new solutions & new friends.
And now, just like soul sufers who get back to the line-up after an awful wipeout, we're in the lab again & making another experiment --- The Science Project 2. So far, we shaped 3 decent 8 feet minimals (Malibux Mix) & cannot wait to try them out when the surf's ready this November. We can't wait to show them off to you guys too!
Also, we are pleased to inform everyone we made our own fin box, courtesy of Niko, which we are psyched about as well.
